The BlackBerry Curve, says Current Analysis’ Greengart, “has the best combination of technology and form factor in the BlackBerry line.”

Nokia’s E71 weighs in at less than five ounces, according to Nokia. It features a full keyboard, 320 x 240 pixel QVGA resolution and dedicated one-touch keys for home, calendar, contacts and emails. Security features include device and remote locks, data encryption for phone memory and microSD content and a mobile virtual private network.

The N9000 is a Maemo platform based device which is something of a cross between a smartphone and a tablet. It features the Maemo browser and a wide variety of functions. Nokia says that it is a slide-slider that weighs a bit over 6 ounces. It both full QWERTY and virtual onscreen keyboards, up to 32 GB of internal storage, microSD memory card extension and is optimized for GPRS, EGE, WCDMA and WLANs.

LG shows off Mobile DTV device for America

LG has released the full specifications for the first American Mobile DTV device, the DP570MH.

The unit has a 7-inch, 480 x 234 resolution screen and can natively playback DVDs via the built-in drive. Making it a "Mobile DTV" device is the fact that it has a TV tuner that can pick up live TV, even while in fast moving vehicles.

The TV can playback live video for 2.5 hours on full charge, and has about 4.5 hours of battery life when used as a DVD player.

Mobile DTV is free, but the device will have $250 MSRP when it ships in a few months.

Samsung C3300K Champ Review

The Samsung C3300K Champ takes the Corby formula and simplifies it even further. It comes with a 2.4 inch resistive touchscreen display which boasts a QVGA resolution has a compact design and also runs the company’s TouchWiz Lite with widgets arranged in a 3×3 grid situated on the home screen.

When Samsung initially announced their first-ever Bada OS mobile device, the attention wasn’t necessarily on the software All things aside, the Samsung Wave is, at least on paper, one of the most technically powerful devices on the market.

         Samsung’s first bada phone, the Samsung Wave S8500, has landed on our desk, and we’re still not quite certain whether the new OS has a future in the mobile market. Designed to bridge the (fast-shrinking) gap between feature-phones and smartphones, bada is envisaged as the Samsung’s way to corner a new generation of handset upgraders tempted by the flexibility of a full smartphone but shy of either their price, complexity or both. Verizon offers Palm Pre Plus for $30

Verizon Wireless has lowered the price of the Palm Pre Plus to $30 with a new contract. The contract free option will still cost you $600. The price for Pixi Plus remains $30.

Review of new HTC Evo 4G

The HTC Evo 4G would be an interesting phone even if it lacked access to Sprint's "4G" WiMAX network. It's a large (humongous?) touchscreen phone running Android 2.1 and HTC's sparkling Sense UI. Besides all that Android has to offer, the phone is packed with multimedia, social networking and other fun and useful features. It might be too large for some, and Sprint's nascent network was a mixed bag in my tests, but for Internet addicts looking for a flagship phone, the HTC Evo 4G covers most of the bases.

Nokia today announced the Nokia X2 Nokia X2 headed for the Indian market

On its official blog, Nokia today announced the Nokia X2, a fairly simple S40 phone headed for the Indian market. Even for the low end S40 customer, the Nokia X2 still offers some of the manufacturer's signature niceties, like a 5 megapixel camera, Nokia Messaging with a built-in Facebook feature, and Ovi services, including Nokia's Comes With Music service. The quad-band GSM phone will be available in Q2 2010 in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as well as Latin America and Canada. U.S. availability has not been announced.

Nokia Messaging Beta for IM now available for touch-based devices

 

The guys over on The Nokia Beta Labs site have announced that their Beta application Nokia Messaging for IM, is no available for Nokia Touch devices starting from today.
Its a full redesign focused on an efficient user experience, you should be able to accomplish key actions with one touch (or just a few).
Nokia Messaging for IM offers a desktop-like IM experience on your Nokia device.  You can stay in contact with your friends across multiple communities at the same time, easily switch between them and customize your status by community.  Highlights include:

• Chat with your friends on the Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo!® Messenger, Google Talk and Ovi communities.
• (new!) Easily change your custom status, avatar (picture) and switch between conversations and communities with just a few taps on touch-based devices.
• (new!) Preview new messages in the Chat home screen widget.  When signed in to multiple communities, the widget will cycle between them.  You can also change your presence within the widget itself.

Yes Ther is Possible Fix for Slow iPhone, iPad Backup (Updated)

If your iPhone or iPad is set to sync automatically when you plug it into your computer, you likely noticed it always performs a backup before syncing. Sometimes, the backup takes an extremely long time. We have found a solution that fixes most of the backup issues in iTunes.

The few steps below involve deleting your backup file in iTunes, so we recommend before you do this, make a copy of that backup file.
In iTunes, go into the settings and click on the Devices icon. There you should see your device listed under "Device backups". If you have more than one item listed, make a note of the date and time of the device backup that matches the device you are having trouble with. This will help us know which backup to make a copy of before we start removing files.
If you are using Windows, backup files are located here:
c:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
Mac users will find backup files here:
USERNAME\Library\Application Support\MobileSync\Backup
In the backup folder, you will see one or more folders with a ridiculously long name, like 6de624828c9d586e1f088f932798039e57e2af7c. This is the backup file for your device. To determine which folder is the correct backup file for your device, match the date and time of the folder with the date and time you took note of above. Once you are sure you have the correct backup file, copy the folder to your desktop.
Once you have made a copy of the file, return to iTunes, go back into settings and click on the Devices icon again. In the "Devices backups" list, click on the device backup for your device, then click the "Delete Backup" button.
When this is complete, reconnect your device and allow iTunes to make a new backup. The new backup should complete much faster than before. If anything goes wrong, you can move the copy of the file on your desktop back to your backup folder.

Apple have removed the ability to choose the iPhone 3G from the online store. We expect the iPhone 3GS to replace this at $99 in the next few days, making way for the new iPhone HD on the 7th June.

Garmin-Asus A10 with pedestrian-optimized GPS to European and Asian Android lovers

The new Garmin-Asus A10 is a humble 3.2" HVGA communicator powered by Android OS. It comes with a 1,500mAh battery, a multitouch-friendly WebKit browser, and a 5Mpix AF camera with automatic geotagging. The preloaded Garmin Navigation maps and software provide location info and turn-by-turn voice instructions while the handset is in offline mode. In-car navigation is also obviously fully supported and encouraged. We also know pedestrian-optimizations are included, such as the public transport-aware cityXplorer maps.

You can expect the A10 to hit the European and Asia-Pacific markets in mid-2010.

You ain't nobody if you don't have an Android handset (or two) these days, and Garmin-Asus has just added the A10 to its own stable of devices. It's not altogether clear what the pedestrian optimizations are, aside from the public transport-aware city Xplorer maps, but in-car navigation is also obviously fully supported and encouraged.
